Pride Alliance: is having a movie night in Mr. Croley's room on February 24, 2016 at 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. to watch a short documentary about how people get along despite their differences in Saugatuck-Douglas, Michigan, eat pizza, and talk. The Theater Department would like to thank those students who attended  the winter show last night. Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind  is a high energy show that provides a unique sensory experience combining numerous theatrical styles in a fast paced, relevant, performance. Don’t miss out on the chance to see this amazing display of honesty, talent, and synergy. Tonight’s show will follow the varsity basketball game and include a special improve set after the performance. Tickets for students are $5 and can be purchased at lunch today. The show continues into Saturday with two shows back to back at 7:00 and at 9:00. Tickets for Saturday can be bought at lunch or at the door. Come see this unique theatrical display of thought provoking commentary on life, the world in which we live, and the ongoing attempt to make sense of it all.

Lip Sync Battle Feb. 22nd at 7:00p.m.

Thanks to Jimmy Fallon and the television show Lip Sync Battle, the art of Lip Syncing is making a comeback and students at DeWitt are running with it by sharing their talents and laughs with others. The Theater Department invites you to come see a “new” tradition in the making on stage at DeWitt and witness a ridiculous amount of courage, talent and passion as over 20 students acts will be represented as they throw down musical performance in a frenzy of fearless fun.

Renaissance Club - Meeting Wednesday February 24th, during seminar, Marble’s Room

Auditions for next year’s choirs are around the corner! If you are interested in singing in Concert Choir or Chamber next year please sign-up for an audition time on the Choir Room door. (2/19)

Student Government is sponsoring a blood drive on Friday, February 26th. Sign up will begin today during both lunches. Donate and you could save up to 3 lives!!!

Japanese Club Members:  We have a club meeting next Wednesday during seminar in sensei’s room.  (2/24)

BOOK CLUB : We will meet in Mr. B’s room on Friday 2-26 to discuss Emory’s Gift. We will also pick a date to meet at the book store. Stop on by for some literary discussion. (2/27)

Student Services:

Attention Seniors - If you have any questions regarding graduation requirements, please stop in Student Services and make an appointment with your Counselor as soon as possible.

Seniors - Local Scholarship applications are due Monday, February 22nd!

AP Exams - Juniors and Seniors can now sign up to take the AP exams which will be held in May.  A $15.00 deposit per exam is required at the time of sign up.  The total cost for each exam is $92.00.  Sign up in Student Services.

Attention next year’s interested CCRESA students - There will be a field trip to the CCRESA program in St. Johns on Wednesday, March 2.  Please sign up in Student Services.  There is a signup sheet and permission slip on the counter.

Athletics / Recognitions

Wrestlers had a great showing at individual districts Saturday.  Qualifiers to regionals were Ronnie Slater, Jackson Severns, Quenten Hall, Kilian Southworth, Tyler Albarez, Sam York, Austin Melton, Gabe Larner, Nick Brandt, Zane Froelich (2/18)

There will be a Varsity Football meeting next Friday, February 26th in the Presentation room during seminar. (2/26)

Boys Freshmen Basketball improved their record to 15-1 with a win over rival Haslett 41-20.  This clinched the league for the the freshmen boys.  Thomas Brannan led the team with 8 points.  Their next game is home Tuesday against Lansing Catholic.

The Boys JV Basketball Team lost to Haslett last night 37-52. Their next game is home Tuesday against Lansing Catholic. (2/19)

Last night the JV Girls Basketball Team defeated league rival Haslett 50-26!  The girls were lead by Annie McIntosh with 20 points, Sydney Mills and Lexi Cullen  with 9 rebounds each and Maddie Petersen with 7 rebounds.  It was a great team win, the girls have two games left next week to finish out the regular season. Congratulations girls!
