Culinary Club our first meetings is today during seminar in room 207. Don’t forget the next meeting is scheduled for November 18. Bring your ideas and information!

First term Young Adult Lit. students pick up your projects today!!

Key Club: We will be meeting today & November 20th in the presentation room, please attend at least one of those meeting dates! Also, Please sign up for a 2 hour shift of bell ringing raising money for The Salvation Army on Saturday November 28th or Saturday December 19th!  Sign up is outside Mrs. Schafer’s room.

ART Club:  TODAY!  Meet in the ART Hallway:))

BOOK CLUB: We are reading “The Girl on the Train “ by Paula Hawkins. See Mr. B if you would like to pick up a copy. (11/18)

Teachers please double check that you have been given a collection box for the "Pasta for Pennies" program which is a Pride contest aimed to assist the Leukemia Society. The boxes will be in Pride classes until November 24th. The class who raises the most money will be rewarded with an Olive Garden lunch especially catered by Liam Lynch and select members of NHS.

DCG - There is a meeting today during seminar. The DCG works hard to develop your talents, interests, ideas, and leadership skills while working to strengthen your support network.  --Many updates will be discussed including the launch of "The SHARE" menu --the January Fashion Show, scholarship opportunities, and more. Come check it out and bring a friend.

Mr. B’s English Plus Class: If you would like to keep your writer’s notebooks, please pick them up BEFORE the Thanksgiving break from Mr. B’s room.

Japanese Club Members:  We will have our next meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 18th during seminar in the Library to discuss the next event.  (11/18)

Feminist Club. The newly formed DeWitt High School Feminist Club welcomes all today for our first meeting today in room 214-the biology room. Come join us.

Student Services:

Eaton Career Preparation center sign up begins today.  If you are interested in enrolling in a Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center program for the 2016-2017 school year, come to Student Services and check out all the programs that will be offered.  There will be a field trip in December for any student interested in this program.  Sign up begins today!  

Scholarship opportunity:   Comcast Scholarship applications are due on Friday, November 13.  The application needs to be turned into Student Services by 3:00 pm.  Michigan Education Association (MEA) scholarship opportunity is now available in Student Services.  Remember to check the Student Services Website for all available scholarships as the website is frequently updated with available scholarships.
Greater Lansing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission Scholarship if now available in Student Services.  The deadline is December 4, 2015.  If you are interested, pick up the application as soon as possible.

Sign up for the practice SAT is now available online through DeWitt Community Education.  The full practice SAT will be held on Saturday, December 5 from approximately 7:45 am - 1:00 pm.  Cost is $35.00.  There is limited space for this practice test.

NCAA Eligibility Meeting: All juniors who have registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse please come down to the presentation room on Tuesday, November 17th during Seminar.  Brief meeting to go over eligibility requirements.

Congratulations to Kara Johnson as she was selected to represent DeWitt HS at this year’s Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference held at Northwood University in May.

Athletics / Recognitions

Varsity boys basketball Tryouts will be Monday November 16 from 3-5 in the HS gym, you must have a physical on file to try out.

Freshmen Boys Basketball Tryouts are Monday-Wednesday, November 16-18.  Please meet in weight room on Monday, November 16 at 3:00.  Reminder must have physical card on file with DHS.

Coach Zimmerman would like to personally thank Carter McCullen and the student section this season. It was the best we have ever had! A huge thanks to the band. You made the last two playoff games an unbelievable atmosphere. You are greatly appreciated. As always our cheerleaders are awesome! Thank You (11/13)
