Euchre Club: Our First meeting will be today.  Meet in the commons and be ready to play some cards!(10/21)


Japanese Club members or those interested:  We will meet today in the library during seminar.(10/21)  


Video Game Club:  Attention students! Tonight will be the first Video Game party of the year.  From 5-11 PM. We will be having events with many of your favorite games to play with, and against your friends, meet new people, and perhaps settle some old rivalries.  During the party, we will be hosting tournaments to hone your skills.  Such as: Call of Duty, Super Smash Brothers, Rocket League, League of legends, and more. Sign-up will be available starting Monday, Oct. 17th at both lunches.  If you plan on attending, you must sign-up before Friday, Oct. 21st.  Admission is $5.00.  The $5.00 covers entry to the party, enters you in as many tournaments as you wish, as well as PIZZA and POP.  If you have any questions, please ask Josh Ricks, Ryan Spitzley, or Mitchell Wilkins for more information. FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America)

FCCLA members doing Halloween Presentations at SRE need to meet after school on Monday. If you are not here on Monday, you will not be going.

FCCLA members Kayla Andrews, Hailey Fenn, Maya Hadley, Joe Morgan, Shawna Weber, Hannah Heinritz, Rheanna Wey, Brooke Wood, Sara Sweeny, Allie Hegerfield, Ameya Anderson and Alyssa Ruekert...you are required to come to a seminar meeting on Wednesday October 26th to confirm Leadership Conference attendance.

SEA Club (Student Environmental Association)

Our next meeting will be Monday, October 24th in Mr. Thelen’s Room (111). (10/24)


NHS applications are due today. There will be a box in Mr. Croley's room for applicants to drop their forms in. Please only drop off applications during Seminar, during lunch or after school.  


ALL STUDENTS:  October is National Bullying Prevention Month and in honor of this very special campaign FCCLA is inviting you to attend a FREE event after school on Monday October 24th in room 132. We will be eating pizza and watching a movie on bullying...please RSVP so we know how much food to order….again, this is a FREE event. (10/24)


Attention Flag Football fans-DARA is hosting a flag football tournament on Sunday October 30.  Registration forms are in the office or register online at www.dewittrecreation.org


SAT Test Workshop on December 3-DeWitt Community Education and Sylvan Learning Center is offering a SAT Workshop on Saturday, December 3 at DHS. Registration is open to DHS juniors (1st) and sophomores (2nd), then other school district students after November 1. Check out the DeWitt Community Education website to view the class flier or to register. Don’t miss the great opportunity for SAT instruction.


Student Services:

Applications are now available for the HOBY State Leadership Seminar.  This is open to any Sophomore student who wishes to explore and cultivate their personal leadership skills to become leaders in their school and community.  Please stop into Student Services to pick up an application.

College Visits: Butler University and Great Lakes Christian College will be visiting today during Seminar.  Monday, Central Michigan University will be visiting during seminar along with doing onsite admissions all day.  Sign up in Student Services if you wish to take part in the onsite admissions process.

Tutor opportunity:  Any sophomore, junior or senior interested in tutoring, applications are now available in Student Services.  We are still in need of students for tutoring.


Athletics / Recognitions


Congratulations to the top performers in this month’s math league competition:  Alex Hostetler, Marissa Boynton, Ian Robinson, Drew Keisling, Justus Holben, Brendan Kennedy, and Kelly Cochrane.  Fine performances were also turned in by Tanner Herald, Ellia Mansour, Stephanie Robinson, Drew Yesmunt, and Philip Roragen. All girls interested in trying out for basketball this year: Be sure that you have turned in your physical and sports participation fees to Mrs. Wilson in the athletic office. If you are not currently in a Fall sport, you should be participating in the conditioning workouts with Coach Uyl every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00-4:00. Tryouts begin on Monday - November 7th!
