Homecoming Court Nominations!  All students please check your email for a ballot to nominate representatives to homecoming court 2018.  Nominations will close Monday, September 17 at 3pm.

Business Professionals of America.  If you are interested in learning more about BPA, please join us TODAY in the presentation room for an information meeting.  Applications are due next week at our 1st membership meeting.

Today there will be an Improv Troupe meeting in Mr. Croley's room -- All students interested in learning more about the power of adaptability, collaboration, and the art of improvisation are highly encouraged to attend. If you are a fan of Saturday Night Live , Who's Line Is It Anyway? or the original sketch comedy shows then you should definitely come down for a good laugh and meet new people who will "have your back" -  Skills such as adaptability, communication, and creative problem solving are quickly becoming prerequisites for success regardless of your interests or field of study. After announcements head down to the Improv Troupe meeting and ensure you get a head start on the essential skills that continue to be in high demand (9/14)

DHS ART DEPARTMENT is having its first annual sidewalk chalk art competition.  The event will be held on Monday, September 24th. Squares will be sold during both lunches beginning today for only $10 a square.  YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A GREAT ARTIST TO JOIN IN ON THE FUN AND WIN PRIZES!!  You can create by yourself or get a group of friends to work together.  Cash prizes and more will be given out.  Let’s kick off homecoming week with some creative fun!!  SIGN UP AT LUNCHES THIS WEEK AND NEXT WEEK! Video Game Club: There is a Video game club meeting next Friday 9/21, right after school in Mr Phillips’ room.  Room 202. Anyone interested in being involved with VGC should attend this meeting. All should attend. We are looking for officers for the club.

Spanish Club: Our first meeting is today during seminar in the library.  Current and New members, come see what we’re doing this fall! Gracias (9/14)

Powderpuff Participation and Shirts: Reminder shirt money for powderpuff is due to Mrs. Anderson’s room TODAY!  You must have a shirt to be on the field for powderpuff on Sunday, September 23rd.  To sign up for participating in powderpuff and to get practice updates see your class president.  Juniors this is Grace Scheaffer and Seniors this is Olivia Reid. Class Color Spirit Shirts are Available to Order! Please turn in your order forms for our Class Spirit Shirts to be worn on the Friday of homecoming week.  Shirts are $10 and all orders are due by Thursday, September 20th. You may give your orders to your seminar teachers who will get them to Mrs. Anderson. (9/19)

CLASS OF 2022: ATTENTION FRESHMEN-- Your seminar teachers have information for you to sign up for REMIND messages for class activities and important reminders. Please sign up THIS WEEK so you won’t miss out on important information.

Seniors who did not buy a yearbook their freshman year, the year of 2015, we will be selling them the rest of this week. They will be sold for ½ price, $40 If you are interested please talk to Shelby Sims or Meredith Nakfoor.  Checks can be made out to DeWitt Yearbook . Buy one before they are gone. (9/14)

D & D CLUB:  meeting in Mr. Battaglia’s room next Friday, Sept. 21- room 224 (9-14)

Book Club - make sure you have signed up for REMIND - see Amyah Seybert. In case you are not on REMIND yet, we will be reading Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins. If you are interested in this novel, stop by Mr. Battaglia’s room, #224. The 7 copies are out, but he will order more, let him know TODAY (9-14)

Homecoming Dance  is on September 29th.  The pink guest request forms are in the office.  

Student Services

Tutors Needed:  Any junior or senior that would like to tutor students, applications are available in the Student Services office.  You must have a 3.5 grade in the subject you wish to tutor. You can charge for your services, get volunteer hours for NHS or just volunteer.  Applications are due by Friday, September 21st.

Upcoming College Visits to DHS: Week of September 17th - Davenport University, Hope College and Kettering University.  If you would like to hear more about these colleges, stop into Student Services and sign up.  The book is on the counter.

Athletics / Recognitions

Congratulations Mens Jv Tennis: the JV tennis team moved its record to          3 and 0 yesterday, defeating Holt here in Dewitt.  The match score was 6-2. Singles winners for the panthers were Zach Freeman, Will Crist, and Brock Schaberg.  The double teams of Ethan Fogel and Sean Page, Charlie Schager and Brian Koski, and Billy Matt and Logan Freeman sealed the win for Dewitt.  Next Monday the team will be home versus Haslett at 4 pm.
