Business Professionals of America is sponsoring the Giving Tree located in the Commons.  All items are being donated to the Veterans Administration.  Please grab a tab and place your purchased items under the tree by Wednesday, December 19.  Help DeWitt BPA with the Michigan State Service Project “Serve Those Who Serve.” (12/17)

SADD Club Our annual candy cane campaign continues this week! We’ll be assembling candy cane messages for the holiday Monday and Wednesday to deliver on Friday. See Mrs. Marble in room 128 for more information.  All students are welcome! (12/21)

The Creative Writing class would like to invite you to the upcoming Poetry Slam on Wednesday, December 19th at 6:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be served and the vibe will be positive. Come share poetry, short stories, or anything else creative. If you don't have an original work we encourage you to simply come out and listen. The Poetry Slam will take place in Mr. Croley's room a.k.a. "The Idea Hive" --It will be a great way to help close out the week prior to break - Bring a friend, bring a stranger, bring your open mind, your teddy bear or your pet rock. Just get there! The festivities get underway at 6:00!

The Dewitt Book Drive had received over 1300 books and any last minute donations will be accepted at the main office today. Thank you to everyone who donated a book or books to this great cause! The winning seminar will be announced Wednesday, and as of today Griffes is in the lead but Rios is not far behind. May the best seminar class win! (12/19)

Student Services

EISD Field Trip: Sophomores and Juniors if you are seriously interested in a Career Prep Program at LCC’s West Campus, please come down to Student Services to sign up. You will need to choose 3 programs of your choice to visit.  The field trip is Dec. 18th 8:30-11. Any questions please see your counselor.

Athletics / Recognitions


The Girls Varsity Basketball team lost a hard-fought contest on the road at East Lansing Friday night by a score of 45-41. Senior Maddie Petersen led all scorers with 14 points, and Annie McIntosh contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds. The girls will look to bounce back with their first home game of the season on Tuesday night against Mason. (12/18)
