Book Club - We need to get your info to update our REMIND APP. So, ALL Book Club members, please see Mr. B. during seminar this week as we are planning to meet soon. (read through 11-9).

Grease the Musical is happening this weekend! Tickets will be on sale at lunches on Wednesday and Thursday for $12. Get your tickets before they sell out! (11/7)

Artwork from Ms. Schultz’s classes from the first nine weeks will be ready to pick up.  You have until this Friday to take artwork home.

Concerned about the divisiveness in American Society today? Interested in building bridges and increasing understanding across groups and political ideologies? Likely to experience hunger at around 6:30pm? Come to the community partnership meeting tonight at 6:30pm tonight, right here at the high school. Bring friends and family! Get fed! Exchange and have fun! That’s at tonight’s DeWitt Community Partnership meeting at 6:30 pm in the media center tonight!

Scholarship and Essay Contest  - the Greater Lansing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission is pleased to announce the 2019 High School Scholarship/Essay Contest! All Greater Lansing Area 9th-11th graders are welcome to enter. Stop into Student Services for more information.  The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Luncheon Celebration will be hold on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Lansing Center.

Attention seniors that are admitted to CMU or plan on applying to CMU, on November 9th during seminar, 2018 DeWitt graduate Lexie Brya will be presenting information on CMU’s Leader Advancement Scholarship.  This is a great opportunity to hear firsthand about a scholarship available to upcoming CMU students. Sign up in Student Services if you wish to attend this presentation.

EISD Field Trip: Sophomores and Juniors if you are seriously interested in a Career Prep Program at LCC’s West Campus, please come down to Student Services to sign up. You will need to choose 3 programs of your choice to visit.  The field trip is Dec. 18th 8:30-11. Any questions please see your counselor.

Athletics / Recognitions

Attention students interested in joining the Bowling Team-There will be a parent meeting for students interested in the High School Bowling team, Wednesday November 7th at 6:00 p.m in the Herbison Woods Cafeteria.  If you are unable to attend but would like more information please contact Leah Cameron at leahcam75@gmail.com (11/7)

Attention to all boys planning to tryout for basketball: Tryouts for JV will take place from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. in the Herbison Woods gym on Monday, November 5th. The Freshmen tryouts will take place between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Herbison Woods gymnasium. All participants must have a physical on file with Mrs. Boyle to take part in tryouts. The Girls’ Swim and Dive Team finished 3rd in the CAAC Blue Division over the weekend.  The girls set 37 Personal Records.  Jordan Shipps set school records in 50 & 100 freestyle events.  Addison Bethard, Allison Flannery, Elise Snyder, Jordyn Shipps, Lisette Fenneuff, Monique Jackson, and Shelby Satkowiak earned All-CAAC honors.

Allison Flannery is the 2018 CAAC Blue Champion in the 100 Backstroke.

Elise Snyder is the 2018 CAAC Blue Champion in 1 Meter Diving.

Jordyn Shipps is the 2018 CAAC Blue Champion in the 50 Freestyle. (11/5)

Congrats! to the Girls Cross Country Team for their 2nd place finish at this past Saturday at the State Cross Country meet. What a GREAT season and a terrific finish. All State Honors go to Ashley Shipps, Sofia Perez and Kaitlyn Hynes.

Rounding out the top seven are Elsa Rusthoven, Grace Hungerford, Delaney Kirinovic, and Grace Sheaffer.
