Video Game Club:  Attention students! Friday, Oct 21st, 2016 will be the first Video Game party of the year.  From 5-11 PM. We will be having events with many of your favorite games to play with, and against your friends, meet new people, and perhaps settle some old rivalries.  During the party, we will be hosting tournaments to hone your skills.  Such as: Call of Duty, Super Smash Brothers, Rocket League, League of legends, and more. Sign-up will be available starting Monday, Oct. 17th at both lunches.  If you plan on attending, you must sign-up before Friday, Oct. 21st.  Admission is $5.00.  The $5.00 covers entry to the party, enters you in as many tournaments as you wish, as well as PIZZA and POP.  If you have any questions, please ask Josh Ricks, Ryan Spitzley, or Mitchell Wilkins for more information. CULINARY CLUB new and previous members:

Our meeting has been changed to October 21 during seminar in room 207.  

Key Club Officers and Interested Members: We will be having a meeting after school, Wednesday, October 19th from 2:30-3:30 to plan out our calendar of events and our next large group meeting.  This is mainly for Officers and other members who are interested in the planning aspects of Key Club.  We will meet in Mrs. Anderson’s room - 221.  See you there!

FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America)

There is still time to join FCCLA! Please see Mrs. Blake for membership information, dues are $20. Also, last call for FCCLA sweatshirt orders..please confirm your order with Mrs. Blake if you have not yet already. Current members participating in the Halloween activities... there is a brief meeting TODAY after school. The next GENERAL meeting will be FRIDAY during seminar..please get a pass from Mrs. Blake.

SEA Club (Student Environmental Association)

Our next meeting will be Monday, October 24th in Mr. Thelen’s Room (111). (10/24)

Student Gov't members should go to Mr. Croley's room today after attendance

NHS applications are due this Friday. There will be a box in Mr. Croley's room for applicants to drop their forms in. Please only drop off applications during Seminar, during lunch or after school.  

A special shout out to Student Government members for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout Homecoming week. Thanks for all you do.

ALL STUDENTS:  October is National Bullying Prevention Month and in honor of this very special campaign FCCLA is inviting you to attend a FREE event after school on Monday October 24th in room 132. The event will include a viewing of the acclaimed movie, “BULLY”. Snacks and beverages will be provided so please take a permission slip and sign up outside rom 132. Again, this is a FREE event.

Attention All Seniors: If you want your photo in the yearbook you must send your photo to the yearbook staff by 3:00 on October 20th. Head shots should be a traditional studio shot featuring a dark background.  NO EXTERIOR PHOTOS will be accepted. Please make every effort to communicate with your photographer to ensure your picture gets in the book. Student Services:

Wednesday, October 19: All students are to report to Seminar for the morning.  Juniors are taking the PSAT!  Please bring a calculator.  Sophomores will be taking the math portion of the PSAT.  Please bring a calculator.  There will be activities planned for Seniors and Freshmen.

Applications are now available for the HOBY State Leadership Seminar.  This is open to any Sophomore student who wishes to explore and cultivate their personal leadership skills to become leaders in their school and community.  Please stop into Student Services to pick up an application.

College Visits: Lansing Community College and Alma College will be visiting today during Seminar for anyone interested in hearing about these two fine colleges.  Sign up in Student Services if you wish to attend.

There are several colleges visiting during October.  Please sign up in Student Services to attend.

Seniors: Central Michigan University will be doing their onsite admissions on Monday, October 24th.  Stop into Student Services if you have any questions or would like to sign up to meet with the admissions representative.

Tutor opportunity:  Any sophomore, junior or senior interested in tutoring, applications are now available in Student Services.  We are still in need of students for tutoring.

Athletics / Recognitions

All freshman and JV boy basketball players will have a meeting today: any freshman boy interested in playing basketball this season the meeting will be in Coach Phillips room, #202 …. Any sophomore interested in playing JV basketball, the meeting will be in the library with Coach Flannery…. That’s today during SEMINAR. (10/17)

All freshman girls interested in trying out for basketball, there will be a meeting right after school in the commons area with Coach Mills on Tuesday - October 18.  Important information will be handed out, so please do not miss it! (10/17)

All girls interested in trying out for basketball this year: Be sure that you have turned in your physical and sports participation fees to Mrs. Wilson in the athletic office. If you are not currently in a Fall sport, you should be participating in the conditioning workouts with Coach Uyl every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00-4:00. Tryouts begin on Monday - November 7th! (10/10 - 10/21)

Congratulations to the girls golf team:  The girls finished fifth overall out of 18 teams at the State Finals over the weekend. If you see Elaina DeRose, Mackenzie Smith, Lexie Brya, Erin Chapko, or Morgan Colby, tell them great job!  Elaina DeRose finished 14th out of 108 players. Well done ladies!

Congrats to the Girl’s Cross Country team!  The Lady Panthers were 4th overall out of 42 teams competing in this past weekend’s Greater Lansing Championship cross country meet.  The panthers were led by Katie Vitou, Hannah Adler, Ashley Ships, Stephanie Robinson, Kelsey Grost, Natalie Yabs, and Sofia Perez.  Great job Ladies!
