September is The National Suicide Awareness Prevention Month. Any member that is interested in supporting our prevention project please come to room 132 for seminar today.

Attention book lovers, writers and poets! DHS has a Creative Writing Club and we’re looking for contributors to publish in this year’s Creative Writing Magazine. Come to our meeting this Thursday after school in Mr. DeLaCruz’s English room and find out more. (9/28)

Attention Mathematicians!:  The 61st Annual Michigan Mathematics Prize Competition is coming soon.  The first exam is Tuesday, October 10th during 2nd Block.  You must sign up by Monday, September 25th to participate.  There is a $4 cost for the competition.  To get more information and/or to sign up, see Mrs. Ezze in Room 223.

    Student Services

Applications are now available in Student Services for students interested in tutoring.   We are still in need of tutors!  

College Visits - Seniors - The following colleges and universities will be visiting during September:  The University of Chicago, Northwood University  and Lawrence Tech are scheduled in September.  Western Michigan University and Central Michigan University will be doing onsite admissions in October.  Sign up in Student Services.  

Seniors last name A-G please set up your remind account with Mr. Crowley.  Directions are available at Student Services.

Sophomores - Interested in gaining valuable leadership skills?  Then consider applying to participate in the annual HOBY Leadership Conference.  You must provide an essay to be considered. 1-2 students will be selected to represent DHS.  See Student Services!

To anyone who may be struggling, for any reason, Student Services would like you to know that your counselors are available anytime to help. They can provide a safe place from whatever you may be battling with. Just fill out a counselor sheet in Student Services to see your counselor.

Athletics / Recognitions

ATTENTION GIRLS INTERESTED IN PLAYING BASKETBALL: Conditioning workouts are taking place every Tuesday and Thursday at the track from 3-4. If you are not playing a Fall sport, you should definitely be there! Also, be sure to have your completed physical on file with Mrs. Wilson in the athletic office before November. You cannot participate in tryouts without a physical. (9/20 - 9/25)
