BPA is organizing a Toys for Tots Holiday Giving Tree: There is a tree in the Panther Pause Cafe with tags. If you want to help kids have an amazing Christmas this year, please stop by the cafe and pick a tag off the tree.  Purchase the item and return it to the box in the store before December 13. The toys do not need to be wrapped. Thanks for helping to support Toys for Tots and DeWitt BPA. (Through Dec. 9)


Attention BPA members: We have a meeting today during seminar after announcements in the Presentation room.  Please attend.  (12/7)


All students who are assisting with the NHS induction Ceremony tonight should go directly to Mr. Croley's room today during Seminar. This includes speakers as well as the setup and tear down crew. Also, any student who signed up to collect dues during lunch on Thursday this week should also attend.   

 

All cast members of the special winter theater project should stop down to Mr. Croley's room to pick up a rehearsal schedule sometime today during Seminar or during lunch.


NHS Members -- All new NHS students should attend the NHS induction ceremony this Wednesday in the auditorium..The event starts promptly at 6:30 with doors opening at 6:15. Please be on time and dress appropriately. The event should not last longer than 45 minutes to an hour. (Read 12/5 and 12/7)


Spanish Club Members -- We have a meeting TODAY during seminar in room 128. See you there!


SADD Club Members -- We have a meeting TODAY during seminar in room 128. See you there!


The DHS Renaissance Club -- is hosting a holiday door decorating contest. We invite every seminar class to decorate the outside of their classroom doors with a holiday theme by December 14th. Doors will be judged and the winning seminar will receive a prize before the holiday break. Participants, please DO NOT ask our art teachers or the media specialist for supplies for this project. ART CLUB --  If you haven’t paid your dues, make sure to see Ms. Norman to give her your money and double check your t-shirt size with her.  T’s will be ordered by next week.  Thanks to all that made it in last night for our annual ornament making event.   Our senior citizens that we made them for will love them!!  ART CLUB will be meeting to finish working on the holiday cards until 3:45 today.  See you all then!!


Sophomores-If you are interested in applying for the Michigan Youth Leadership Conference please pick up and application in the main office. Applications are due by December 9.  


Japanese Club Members:  We will meet  Wednesday, Dec. 7th in Sensei’s room

during seminar. Please come and get a pass before the meeting from sensei.  (12/7)


SEA Club- We will be having a meeting on Wednesday in the Library during seminar to discuss a “Penny War”, t-shirts, and a spring project.


Choir Trip - There will be a MANDATORY meeting for any student going on the Choir Toronto Trip on Friday during Seminar. If you are not able to attend please see Ms. Eldred as soon as possible for required paperwork. (12/9)


FCCLA: there will be a general membership meeting Wednesday during seminar and a competition meeting Friday during seminar.

Lansing Community College Scholarship Meeting - will be held today during Seminar.  You must sign up in Student Services to reserve your spot.  

College Visit - Lake Superior State University will be visiting on Friday during Seminar.  Sign up in Student Services.

Athletics / Recognitions


Anyone interested in playing varsity football in the fall of 2017 needs to attend an informational meeting this Friday, December 9 during seminar in the gym.


The Varsity Girls Basketball team stormed back in the fourth quarter last night from a 15-point deficit to beat rival East Lansing on a shot at the buzzer by Grace George 59-58.  The Panthers had four players score in double figures, including Maddie Petersen with 16, Annie McIntosh with 15, Grace George with 13 and Jessah McManus with 12 points.  Mackenzie Dawes dished out 6 assists.  The girls open CAAC-Red play on Friday at Mason.
