ATTENTION… ATTENTION...THE VIDEO GAME CLUB will be hosting a video game party this Friday 12/8.. From 6:00 to 11:00PM in the DHS library.  sign ups are at both lunches all week, cost is $5 for club members $6 for non members ... tournaments for this month's party are COD WW2 2v2, Halo 3 2v2, Madden 18, Smash (pause) Bros.4, and Rocket League 2v2. There will also be pop, pizza, and plenty of more games so be there or be square

Are you getting into the Christmas spirit of giving?   If so, please consider getting a gift for someone less fortunate and putting it under the giving tree in the commons. BPA is sponsoring the giving tree again this year so grab a tag and buy someone a Christmas gift.  Deadline is December 15. Thanks!  (through Dec. 13)

Renaissance Club is hosting our 2nd Hair Donation Drive on December 8th. We are inviting all students to donate 8 or more inches of hair to CHILDREN WITH HAIR LOSS, a non-profit company that makes hair replacements for children with medically related hair loss. Permission forms are available in the main office or from Mrs. Marble. Will you donate your hair and change a child’s life?  See Mrs. Marble to sign up.

Congratulations to the Robotics Teams. On Saturday the teams traveled to Haslett to compete against 35 teams from around MIchigan. During the qualification matches the Senior and Sophomore teams ended in the top ten teams. And during tournament play the Seniors and Juniors fought their way through the quarter and and into the semifinals. The Senior team had a hard loss in the semifinals, but ended the day with a 2nd place finish in the Robot Skills challenge. The Junior team made it into the finals, but lost during the second round. Awesome job to all of the teams!

Today there is an Improv Troupe meeting from 2:30 - 4:30 in Mr. Croley's room followed by a Coffee House Chat from 4:30 - 6:30 --- All members of the DeWitt Creativity Group, Pride Alliance, and Improv Troupe are strongly encouraged to attend. Students who have participated in or attended a SHARE session, or have been in the Communications/Debate class, Creative Writing, or Acting I last term are also highly encouraged to come. Bring a coffee, bring a topic, and bring a friend. (today only)

Thursday after school there is an important DeWitt Creativity Group meeting in The Idea Hive. If you have an interest in the Health Profession, Gaming Industry, or Teaching Profession you should make sure to stop in as unique opportunities await. Please make every effort to attend as much will be discussed and allow for extended time to work on ideas and initiatives. (today only)

FCCLA: FCCLA members! Don't forget our Holiday Extravaganza on Friday from 3-5 in Mrs. Blake’s room. Your entrance into the party will be a non-perishable food item or self care item to donate to the food drive. The person who brings the most items will win a prize! Also,don’t forget a white elephant gift and a snack/drink to share. Pizza and FUN will be provided. RSVP on the sheet outside Mrs. Blake’s room (keep until 12/8)


Book Club - We are just finishing John Green’s Looking for Alaska. Remember you can comment and discuss the novel on our blog. Finally, we will meet this coming Saturday at the Schuler’s in East Town Center at 2:00pm. We will discuss the novel, sip coffee, and then vote on the next book selection - schuler’s 2:00pm, this Saturday December 9th. See Mr. B or Cheyenne Hicks (keep through Friday 12-8)

Athletics / Recognitions

2018 Varsity Football - There is an informational meeting for all boys planning on playing varsity football in the fall of 2018 during seminar on Friday, December 8 in Coach Zim’s classroom.

2018 JV Football - There is an informational meeting for all boys planning on playing junior varsity football in the fall of 2018 during seminar on Friday, December 8 in the high school gym. It will be with Coach Spicer.

JV Boys Basketball:  On Monday, the JV Boys Basketball team hosted East Lansing.  The boys used a balance scoring attack to wear down the Trojans, leading to a fourth quarter comeback and a 52-47 victory.  The boys are next in action Thursday when they head to Mason High School.

The Varsity Girls Basketball team lost a hard-fought contest with rival East Lansing last night 52-51.  Annie McIntosh led four double figures scorers for DeWitt with 13 points. Maddie Petersen scored 12 points and dished out 4 assists, Sydney Mills had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Grace George scored 10.  Lily Stephan added 4 assists for the Panthers, who play at home in the first league game of the year on Friday against Mason at 6:00.
