CULINARY CLUB MEETING FRIDAY FEBRUARY 5 IN 207


LINKS-- There is a meeting for all students enrolled in the LINKS class in Mr. Derdowski’s office in the library during seminar today.


Attention Business Professionals of America: Our meeting for today is canceled.  Again no BPA meeting today.  (2/3)


Pride Alliance: is having a movie night in Mr. Croley's room to watch a short documentary about how people get along despite their differences in   Saugatuck-Douglas, Michigan, eat pizza, and talk. If you want to attend, please sign up on the sheet outside Mr. Croley's door. The movie night will be February 24, 2016 at 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. (1/27- 2/24)


Hey DHS!! Winterfest is coming around the corner, and spirit week is starting February 16th. Tuesday is PJ Day. Wednesday is sports day where you wear anything sports related, jerseys, uniform or athletic gear, then Thursday pick a friend for Twin Day, lastly on Friday the 19th pull out all your DeWitt spirit gear.

THEN Saturday, February 20th come out to Munn Ice Arena to skate with your friends for just $8! Doors open at 8:45.


Student Government is sponsoring a blood drive on Friday, February 26th. Sign up will begin at both lunches on Wednesday, February 17th. Donate and you could save up to 3 lives!!!


ART Club Members:  There will be a meeting on Friday during Seminar in Ms. Norman’s room, 301.  We will be setting up our date to work on an art project for the coffee shop.  See you all then.

Buy Your Valentine a Rose!  The Valentine’s Day rose sale is happening now, during both lunches.  Roses are $2 each, and you may buy just 1, or as many as you’d like!  If you buy a dozen, the roses will be delivered in a complimentary vase!  Roses will be delivered Thursday February 11th during Seminar.  Who’s your Valentine???

Attention Seniors - If you have any questions regarding graduation requirements, please stop in Student Services and make an appointment with your Counselor as soon as possible.

Seniors - Local Scholarship applications are due February 22nd so if you have not picked up any applications, please do so now.  Don’t miss this great opportunity!

AP Exams - Juniors and Seniors can now sign up to take the AP exams which will be held in May.  A $15.00 deposit per exam is required at the time of sign up.  The total cost for each exam is $92.00.  Sign up in Student Services.


Athletics / Recognitions


Men’s Swim and Dive wins DeWitt Invitational For First Time in 29 years! It was a total team effort on Saturday as Nick Schieberl lead the charge winning two individual events (the 100 free breaking 50 seconds for only the 8th time in the history of DeWitt Swimming at 49.94 and the 200 free by 5 seconds in 1:52.36) and taking 2nd in two relays along with Cam Sackett and Ryan Armbrustmacher in both and Ryan McVicker in the 200 free relay and Conor Sands in the 400 free relay. Sackett also won the 500 freestyle, an event dominated by both he and Sands! For his efforts, Nick Schieberl was nominated and is currently up for Prep Sports Athlete of the week for the Lansing State Journal. Please vote early and often as voting concludes at 12 noon on Wednesday! Congratulations to the whole team! (2/2)


Boys Track meeting is today in the Library during seminar.


Freshmen Boys Basketball lost to Williamston last night 58-56. Michael Joseph led the team with 19 points and Ben Tanke added 14 points. Their next game is Thursday at home against St. Johns.


The JV Boys Basketball Team defeated Williamston last night 51-39.  Nice job guys!  Their next outing is home on Thursday against St. Johns. (2/3)
