A reminder to the cast and crew of Stand and Deliver there will be a full cast rehearsal today until 5:30. Make sure you are there as there is much to get done.

The Video Production class and DeWitt Creativity Group will be hosting a student film showcase tonight from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.. The event will take place in "The Idea Hive" and include the viewing of student produced documentary short films and other creative shorts as well as conversations with the filmmakers. This event is FREE to attend. For questions and inquiries or a FREE ticket to the event see Mr. Croley as seating is limited.  (1/18)

Japanese Club Members:  We will meet today during seminar in sensei’s room to talk about upcoming events and activities.  

Student Services

If you are interested in a CCRESA Program for next year, stop in Student Services to sign up for the RESA recruitment day which is scheduled for several different dates in January.  There are signup sheets on the counter.  Today during Seminar, instructors from the Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice and Emergency/Fire Science programs will be here to meet with interested students.

EISD Career Prep Programs: Those students that went on the field trip and are interested in signing up for a Career Prep Program must do the following:

*meet with your counselor and pick up a contract that must be filled out and signed by yourself and a parent.  Contracts are available in Student Services

AP Testing: All students taking an AP class this school year interested in taking the AP exam must sign up in Student Services.  You will need a $15 non-refundable deposit at the time you sign up.  

Local Scholarship applications are now available in Student Services.  If you are interested in local scholarships, stop into Student Services and fill out the form.  If you turned in a scholarship request form, your scholarship applications can be picked up in Student Services.

Athletics / Recognitions

The track meeting scheduled for Mr. Acres room today has been moved to Monday next week.

The Girls Varsity Basketball team beat arch rival Haslett 49-46 on Friday night, led by 17 points from Sydney Mills.  Mackenzie Dawes had 5 steals, and the go-ahead 3-point shot late in the fourth quarter and Maddie Petersen sealed the victory with two big free throws.  Grace George added 10 points and 6 rebounds for the Panthers, who raised their overall record to 8-1.

DeWitt Lacrosse Club Information Night - Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 7:30 in the Junior High Auditorium.  This meeting is for girls and boys JV and Varsity players and parents.

Congratulations to the top performers in this month’s math league:  Seniors Ian Robinson, Brendan Kennedy, Alex Hostetler, and Dylan Beck; Junior Jacob Ayriss; Sophomore Drew Keisling; Freshmen Kyla Carpenter and Justus Holben.  (1/18)
