If you have an overdue library book, and you want to avoid any fines or overdue notices than either renew or return your book. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Sheridan in the library.


Book Club: We are reading Emory’s Gift by W. Bruce Cameron. Please check the library for a copy. We are in the process of trying to find extras. As usual see Mr. B, Abbey Wade, or Lily Splawn for details.


Pride Alliance: is having a movie night in Mr. Croley's room to watch a short documentary about how people get along despite their differences in   Saugatuck-Douglas, Michigan, eat pizza, and talk. If you want to attend, please sign up on the sheet outside Mr. Croley's door. The movie night will be February 24, 2016 at 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. (1/27- 2/24)


Hey DHS!! Winterfest is coming around the corner, and spirit week is starting February 16th. Tuesday is PJ Day. Wednesday is sports day where you wear anything sports related, jerseys, uniform or athletic gear, then Thursday pick a friend for Twin Day, lastly on Friday the 19th pull out all your DeWitt spirit gear.

THEN Saturday, February 20th come out to Munn Ice Arena to skate with your friends for just $8! Doors open at 8:45.


Robotics: The robotics teams traveled to Webberville on Saturday. All three teams did a phenomenal job during the competition. During qualifications matches the Junior/Senior team ended in 2nd place, Freshman in 5th and Sophomores in 8th.  During the tournament play all three teams made it to the semi-finals. The Freshman, who were allied with the sophomores, were able to come out victorious and made it to the finals. They were unable to come away with a win in the finals, but put up a good fight. Awesome job to all three teams! (1/25-1/27)

Student Services:

Local Scholarship applications are now available! - Any senior interested in scholarship opportunities, stop into Student Services.  There are many great scholarships available for seniors.

AP Exams - Juniors and Seniors can now sign up to take the AP exams which will be held in May.  A $15.00 deposit per exam is required at the time of sign up.  The total cost for each exam is $92.00.  Sign up in Student Services.


Athletics / Recognitions

DeWitt Lacrosse Club Information Night - Wednesday, January 27th at 7:30 in the Junior High Auditorium.  This meeting is for girls and boys JV and Varsity players and parents.


Boys Track meeting today after announcements in the Presentation Room. (1/27)


Wrestling Last Wednesday the 20th, DeWitt hosted St.Johns (ranked #2) on the wrestling mat. Halfway through the meet Panthers were down 25-0 when Austin Melton got the first pin.  They came back to win 33-31 with the winning pin from Ronnie Slater. Congratulations to all. It's been a long 7 years! (1/27)


The Girls Varsity Basketball team raised its record to 12-1 with a 57-22 victory over Okemos last night. Lilly George led the way with 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Gabby Iacobellis added 11 points for the Panthers. Mackenzie Dawes led a defensive attack that held the Chiefs’ star guard nine points below her scoring average. The girls travel to Mason for an important league game at 6:00 on Friday night. (1-27)

Freshmen Boys Basketball had a win over Okemos 44-33.  The win pushed their record to 10-0. Ben Tanke led the team with 15 points and Derek Hamp added 11 points.  They play Mason on Thursday.  


The JV Boys Basketball Team defeated Okemos last night 55-32.  Great job guys!  They play Mason at home this Thursday. (1/27)
