Book Club - We have finished Girl on the Train Come for coffee and discussion this Friday (Nov 9th) - 6pm at the Lansing Barnes and Nobles - See Mr. B for questions (11-9).

Congratulations to the Robotics teams - On Saturday the Robotics teams traveled to Webberville for their first tournament of the year. The Freshman did awesome and ended up in 6th out of 29 teams, but lost during tournament play. The Sophomores ended the day after qualification matches being 4-4, but did not make the tournament play. The Seniors did a phenomenal job and ended up making it to the finals, but lost a hard fought match in the end. Even though they did not win the tournament, the judges were so impressed by their robot design and engineering notebook that they took home the Design Award! This qualifies the Senior team for States at MSU in February. Awesome job! The teams travel to Grandville this Saturday for their next competition.

Grease the Musical is happening this weekend! Tickets will be on sale at lunches on Wednesday and Thursday for $12. Get your tickets before they sell out! (11/7)

Artwork from Ms. Schultz’s classes from the first nine weeks will be ready to pick up.  You have until this Friday to take artwork home.

Scholarship and Essay Contest  - the Greater Lansing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission is pleased to announce the 2019 High School Scholarship/Essay Contest! All Greater Lansing Area 9th-11th graders are welcome to enter. Stop into Student Services for more information.  The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Luncheon Celebration will be hold on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Lansing Center.

Attention seniors that are admitted to CMU or plan on applying to CMU, on November 9th during seminar, 2018 DeWitt graduate Lexie Brya will be presenting information on CMU’s Leader Advancement Scholarship.  This is a great opportunity to hear firsthand about a scholarship available to upcoming CMU students. Sign up in Student Services if you wish to attend this presentation.

EISD Field Trip: Sophomores and Juniors if you are seriously interested in a Career Prep Program at LCC’s West Campus, please come down to Student Services to sign up. You will need to choose 3 programs of your choice to visit.  The field trip is Dec. 18th 8:30-11. Any questions please see your counselor.

Athletics / Recognitions

Attention students interested in joining the Bowling Team-There will be a parent meeting for students interested in the High School Bowling team, tonight November 7th at 6:00 p.m in the Herbison Woods Cafeteria.  If you are unable to attend but would like more information please contact Leah Cameron at leahcam75@gmail.com (11/7)


Attention Senior Student Athletes: if you have committed to continue your athletic career at the collegiate level, please stop into the Athletic Office to sign up for the National Letter of Intent Reception, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Media Center.

The Girls Swim and Dive Team set 20 Personal Records at the Second Shave meet last night.  Jordyn Shipps set a new school record in the 100 Backstroke. The Divers are headed to Grand Rapids Northview tomorrow for the MHSAA Diving Regionals. (11/7)
