BOOK CLUB: We are reading Perks of Being a Wallflower, a fantastic coming of age story. We will be meeting in Mr. B’s room, #224, during seminar on Friday October 16th to discuss the book. The goal is to be about half way through. Regardless, if you have only read a few pages or the whole book, stop by for a chat on Friday October 16th. Towards the end of October, we will meet at Schuler’s Books and Music to sip coffee and discuss the whole novel.(10/16)   

Michigan Space Program Any one interested in being part of an out of this world organization please come to the library today during seminar.  We have some awesome activities coming up and would love new members!   (10/7)

There is a calligraphy club meeting today during seminar in Mr. Kloenhamer room.

Michigan Space Program will be showing the film MARS RISING on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Mr. LaFay’s room (#205) not Mr. Croley’s at 7:00 PM to celebrate World Space Week. All students interested in space exploration and other related topics are welcome to attend. MARS RISING is a documentary about the challenges of sending astronauts to colonize Mars. Cost to attend is free. (9/30, 10/2, and 10/7)

Key Club  The next Key Club meeting will be Friday, October 9th, during Seminar, in the library….Peppino’s Pizza will be provided :).  If you missed the first meeting, and are interested in positive leadership opportunities, volunteering, and just want to work to make the world a better place, come to the meeting!  Open to all students, 9th-12th. Please have your $12.50 dues paid by Friday October 16th; give to Abby Wade, Taylor Villarreal, Amy Wang, Callee Fisher, or Mrs. Schafer (room 120).  

Student Services:

Seniors - There is a scholarship opportunity available for high school seniors submitting an essay describing their relationship with a relative diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.  For more information stop into Student Services.

Any Sophomore interested in the HOBY Leadership Essay contest, please stop in Student Services to pick up an application.  For more information on the HOBY Leadership contest, see your Seminar teacher or stop into Student Services.

Davenport University will be visiting today during Seminar.  Sign up in Student Services.

DeWitt Creativity Group will hold a meeting today on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 during Seminar in Mr. Croley’s room. We will be discussing the trip to Grand Rapids this Friday and other important topics. (10/7)

DeWitt Creativity Group members going on the trip to Grand Rapids for ArtPrize this Friday, October 9, 2015 must bring a check made out to DeWitt Public Schools for $7.00 before Friday to go on the trip. Also, please do not forget to bring money for lunch. (10/7)

Athletics / Recognitions

Congratulations go out to the girls Cross Country team.  The DeWitt girls were 2nd in Divisions 1 and 2, at this past Saturday's DeWitt Invitational, with Salem winning the Division with a total of 23 points. The DeWitt girls were led by Hannah Adler, Katie Vitou, Ashley Shipps, Natalie Yabs, Stephanie Robinson, Kara Johnson and Ashley Brzozowski.

Girls Cross Country team went on to win their 2nd League jamboree last night at Haslett. The girls were lead by Ashley Shipps, Katie Vitou, Hannah Adler, Stephanie Robinson, Kara Johnson, Natalie Yabs, Ashley Brzozowski.
