Business Professionals of America is accepting applications for membership. See the bulletin  board outside Panther Pause Cafe for information on how to become a member. New and interested members should plan to attend the Informational Meeting on Fri., September 14 (note this is a date change). Applications are DUE by Fri., September 21. (9/21)


This Friday there will be an Improv Troupe meeting in Mr. Croley's room -- All students interested in learning more about the power of adaptability, collaboration, and the art of improvisation are highly encouraged to attend. If you are a fan of Saturday Night Live , Who's Line Is It Anyway? or the original sketch comedy shows then you should definitely come down for a good laugh and meet new people who will "have your back" -  Skills such as adaptability, communication, and creative problem solving are quickly becoming prerequisites for success regardless of your interests or field of study. This Friday head down to the Improv Troupe meeting and ensure you get a head start on the essential skills that continue to be in high demand (9/14)


FCCLA members: If you are interested in being a NEW FCCLA member please come to our NEW member meeting on TODAY! PLEASE sign UP and RSVP outside room 132 and get a pass from MRS. Blake TODAY during seminar. Remember, you MUST have taken an FCS class (Parenting, Nutrition and Foods, Personal Living or Family and Society) to be an FCCLA member.. If you are unable to come to the meeting please get a membership form from Mrs. Blake.

Our first chapter project will be  a focus on Suicide prevention month. (9/12)


DHS ART DEPARTMENT is having its first annual sidewalk chalk art competition.  The event will be held on Monday, September 24th from 2:30 - 5:30pm on the front patio/sidewalk area of the high school.  See the posters around school for times, or see the ART Teachers. Squares will be sold during both lunches beginning today for only $10 a square.  You can create by yourself or get a group of friends to work together.  Cash prizes and more will be given out.  Let’s kick off homecoming week with some creative fun!!  Any questions, please see Ms. Norman or Miss Schultz. Video Game Club: There is a Video game club meeting next Friday 9/21, right after school in Mr Phillips’ room.  Room 202. Anyone interested in being involved with VGC should attend this meeting. All should attend. We are looking for officers for the club.


Renaissance Club: Our first meeting is TODAY during seminar in the library.

Renaissance is a club dedicated to making sure that DeWitt High School is an awesome place for ALL students. We host the annual Haunted Trail and we sponsor the Blue and Gold Student Recognition programs. If you would like to join Renaissance, we’ll see you today in the library! (9/12)

Powderpuff Participation and Shirts: Reminder shirt money for powderpuff is due to Mrs. Anderson’s room by Friday, September 14th.  You must have a shirt to be on the field for powderpuff on Sunday, September 23rd. To sign up for participating in powderpuff and to get practice updates see your class president.  Juniors this is Grace Scheaffer and Seniors this is Olivia Reid. (9/14)


Class Color Spirit Shirts are Available to Order! Please turn in your order forms for our Class Spirit Shirts to be worn on the Friday of homecoming week.  Shirts are $10 and all orders are due by Thursday, September 20th. You may give your orders to your seminar teachers who will get them to Mrs. Anderson. (9/19)

CLASS OF 2022: ATTENTION FRESHMEN-- Your seminar teachers have information for you to sign up for REMIND messages for class activities and important reminders. Please sign up THIS WEEK so you won’t miss out on important information.


Attention Robotics teams we will be having our first meeting is TOMORROW, September 13th after school. If you are interested in joining Robotics or finding out more information stop by Mr. Bush’s room or come to the meeting! (9/12)


Seniors who did not buy a yearbook their freshman year, the year of 2015, we will be selling them the rest of this week. They will be sold for ½ price, $40 If you are interested please talk to Shelby Sims or Meredith Nakfoor.  Checks can be made out to DeWitt Yearbook . Buy one before they are gone. (9/14)

DeWitt Creativity Group  All students interested in working with the DCG should come to the first meeting of the year in Mr. Croley’s room today during Seminar. We will be discussing several initiatives for the upcoming year (9/12)

Homecoming Dance  is on September 29th.  The pink guest request forms are in the office.  


Student Services

Tutors Needed:  Any junior or senior that would like to tutor students, applications are available in the Student Services office.  You must have a 3.5 grade in the subject you wish to tutor. You can charge for your services, get volunteer hours for NHS or just volunteer.  Applications are due by Friday, September 21st.


Upcoming College Visits to DHS: Today is MSU and Sept 21, Hope College.  If you would like to hear more about these colleges, stop into Student Services and sign up.  The book is on the counter.

Seniors - Please turn in the Consent for Access to Student Transcripts form to your seminar teacher if you haven’t already done so.  This form is now due. We will not send out your transcript to colleges until we receive this form. This applies to athletic recruiters as well.



Athletics / Recognitions

Congratulations Mens Jv Tennis: the JV tennis team moved its record to          2 and 0 yesterday, defeating a very good Okemos team here in Dewitt.  The match score was 5-3. Singles winners for the panthers were Zach Freeman, Jacob Orth, Will Crist, and Sam Guilaume.  The win by the number two double team of Ethan Fogel and Sean Page sealed the win for Dewitt. Great job men! The JV tennis program will be in action this Thursday at home versus Holt at 4pm.  Come out and check out the team.
