CLASS OF 2022: ATTENTION FRESHMEN-- Your seminar teachers have information for you to sign up for REMIND messages for class activities and important reminders. Please sign up THIS WEEK so you won’t miss out on important information.


FCCLA: Please get dues turned in as soon as possible. There will be a meeting next Wednesday during seminar (10/3)


Homecoming Dance Tickets are now available! You can purchase a ticket at both lunches.  Tickets will not be sold at the door so make sure to get a ticket before Friday.  


Homecoming King and Queen election: Ballots will be available in your school email starting Tuesday, September 25 and will be open to voting until Friday, September 28th at 7:30am.  Make sure to vote! The King and Queen will be announced at halftime of the varsity football game on Friday.


Interested in being a part of this Friday’s Pep Assembly? See your class president to sign up for the class competitions that are the hallmark of our pep assembly on Friday.  


Spirit Numbers are coming in close!: We are 2 days in and counting is happening for Wednesday right now! Currently in 4th place are the Sophomores with 176 points, in 3rd place are the Seniors with 184 points, in 2nd place are the Juniors with 207 points and that means in 1st place are the Seniors with 296 points! Make sure to dress up and be counted in such a tight race - we still have two more days to dress up.  These points will be factored into our class spirit competition on Friday!


Japanese Club Members:  We will have a meeting during seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 26th in Lab 1. (9/26)  


ALL Participants of the Chalked Up event!!  We need to see you for a photograph.  Please stop down to the art rooms as soon as announcements are done.  Thank you!


Key Club: Key Club will be happening this year!  There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, October 3rd, in the library during Seminar OR after school Thursday, October 4th starting at 2:40.  If you want to give back to your community and the people in it, or step up as a leader, then key club is for you! Activities count toward required NHS hours, or if you have needed service hours for something else.  See Ms. Cotter in Mrs. Preston’s room (118), or e-mail Mrs. Schafer if you have questions. See you at the meeting!


D & D Club - officially we will meet every Wednesday to campaign. Today, we will meet in Mr. LaFays room. Next Wednesday will be in Mr. Bs.



Student Services

Upcoming College Visits to DHS: Albion College and Kalamazoo College are visiting today during seminar.    

Central Michigan University onsite admissions will take place on Friday, October 12th.  Stop into Student Services and sign up if you wish to meet with the admissions advisor.  An admission decision will be made that day.


Athletics / Recognitions

Varsity Basketball: Gentlemen interested in playing varsity basketball during the 2018-2019 season should meet Coach Flannery next Monday, October 1st in the library.


ATTENTION ALL SOFTBALL PLAYERS: THERE WILL BE A MEETING ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 1ST DURING SEMINAR IN COACH NOLEN’S ROOM 237.  IF YOU PLAN TO TRY OUT FOR VARSITY OR JUNIOR VARSITY SOFTBALL, YOU MUST ATTEND.
