Students interested in being part of the Tech Crew for the Musical: Do you like to build things? Would you like to learn more about what happens backstage or in the light booth during a show? There will be an informational meeting TODAY during Seminar in the Choir Room! Come be a part of this Fall’s production of Guys & Dolls - no experience is necessary! (9/30)

Students interested in Business Professionals of America: Our first meeting is TODAY in the Presentation room. You can bring your dues check and signed code of conduct to the first meeting.  All members must be signed up and registered by Oct. 1 on Moodle.  (9/30)

Attention Japanese Club members or those interested:  We will have our 1st meeting TODAY during seminar in Sensei’s room 238.  (9/30)

Hey students - don’t forget to come and check out the student store and all the products we offer - both edible and spirit wear.  We can personalize your DeWitt gear with embroidery or screen printing. You can special order any type of clothing. We now have Otis Spunkmeyer cookies for sale as well as delicious fruit smoothies. (10/2)

Robotics Club Any freshmen that is interested in learning more about Robotics see Mr. Bush or come to our meeting on Thursday after school in Rm. 114.

Key Club  The next Key Club meeting will be Friday, October 9th, during Seminar, in the library.  If you missed the first meeting, and are interested in positive leadership opportunities, volunteering, and just want to work to make the world a better place, come to the meeting!  Open to all students, 9th-12th. Please have your $12.50 dues paid by Friday October 16th; give to Abby Wade, Taylor Villarreal, Amy Wang, Callee Fisher, or Mrs. Schafer (room 120).  

Chess club! We have meeting during seminar Wednesday and Friday this week. Come down and play! Make sure to sign up for the class on remind 101 to get all information on meetings, events, and tournaments. For any questions concerning the club, speak with the king. See you on the battlefront!

BOOK CLUB: We are reading Perks of Being a Wallflower, Mr. B still has a couple of copies available if you are interested in this fantastic coming of age story. We will be meeting in Mr. B’s room, #224, during seminar on Friday October 16th to discuss the book. The goal is to be about half way through, but if you have read a few pages or the whole book - that is great, stop by for a chat on Friday October 16th. Towards the end of October, we will meet at Schuler’s Books and Music to sip coffee and discuss the whole novel.(10/16)

DeWitt Creativity Group is organizing a field trip to Grand Rapids to experience ArtPrize Seven on Friday, October 9, 2015: For 19 days, three square miles of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, become an open playing field where anyone can find a voice in the conversation about what is art and why it matters. Art from around the world pops up in every inch of downtown, and it’s all free and open to the public. Students interested in going on the trip, should see Mr. Croley to sign up by Friday, October 2, 2015.  (10/2).

Michigan Space Program will be showing the film MARS RISING on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Mr. Croley’s room at 7:00 PM to celebrate World Space Week. All students interested in space exploration and other related topics are welcome to attend. MARS RISING is a documentary about the challenges of sending astronauts to colonize Mars. Cost to attend is free. (9/30, 10/2, and 10/7)

Student Services:

The Aquinas College Visit for today has been canceled.  

Seniors - There is a scholarship opportunity available for high school seniors submitting an essay describing their relationship with a relative diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.  For more information stop into Student Services.

Any Sophomore interested in the HOBY Leadership Essay contest, please stop in Student Services to pick up an application.  For more information on the HOBY Leadership contest, see your Seminar teacher or stop into Student Services.

Central Michigan University will be holding on-site admissions on Friday, October 2nd.  You will need to sign up in Student Services.

Any junior or senior student wishing to tutor students, your application is due to Student Services by next Friday, October 2nd.  You must have gotten a 3.5 grade in the subject you wish to tutor.  You can charge for your services, get volunteer hours for NHS or just volunteer.  Please stop in Student Services to pick up an application.
