Career Cruising is the program used by all students to prepare and update their individual four-year educational development plans. The four-year planning process begins during the 7th grade and should be reviewed and updated annually by the student. Students will be provided with login information and they should record this information in a safe place for access throughout their high school career. The school is required to have a signed EDP for each student.

This will be my 13th year as a counselor at DeWitt High School. I continue learning yearly with professional development and by attending conferences/seminars. All of  which helps to guide me with the educational experience needed to assist our students.  Before moving to the high school, I spent 11 years teaching fourth and fifth grades.  My teaching experience includes four years with Lansing Public Schools and seven years with DeWitt Public Schools.

I have two daughters, Rachel, who is 28, an RN (working at hospital), and resides in Phoenix AZ.  Jenna, who is 23, is currently working at preschool, and going to school to earn a Business Degree.

Prior to getting involved in education, I spent 14 years in the golf industry.  I was a P.G.A. Golf Professional at various facilities around the state.  I oversaw the day-to-day operations of the golf course as well as being the owner/operator of the Pro Shop.  Part of my duties was giving lessons and I really enjoyed helping junior golfers.  I ran/oversaw many junior clinics and junior golf tournaments.  It was great to see these junior golfers improve and have fun learning to play a life long sport.

Spending time with junior golfers during my time as a golf professional helped to build a successful girls golf program at DeWitt High School.  I coached girls golf for 13 seasons.  During that time we won multiple league and regional titles.  The girl's teams earned two state titles, one in 2005 and the other in 2007.  The girl's teams have also won All-State honors academically and individuals have won All State honors based on talent.  I served on Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association board for six years (two years as President).  This will be my 27th season helping our Boys Varsity Golf Team as an assistant coach.  The teams have had much success over those seasons including three state championships.

I will be starting my sixth season as a coach for the Boys Freshmen Basketball at DHS.  I enjoy being back on the hardwood and helping these young men learn the game and about sportsmanship.

I am a registered MHSAA official and a member of the CAOA (Capital Area Officials Association).  This will be my 11th season officiating high school football.
