Hello and welcome to my bio page! My name is Kirstin Kraushaar and I am thrilled to be your school counselor at DeWitt High School! I attended Michigan State University where I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, then went to Western Michigan University for a Master's degree in School Counseling (K-12). I got my start as a counselor in southwest Michigan where I was an elementary school counselor for three years. I moved back to the area in 2019 and made the switch to the high school level, working at Charlotte High School. Now, I'm thrilled to call myself a Panther!
The part of my job I love the most is forming relationships with students and helping them navigate the shift into the world of young adulthood, whether that is the workforce, a trade, the military or college. In my free time I'm usually taking a barre class, crafting, listening to a true crime podcast or streaming the latest show people are talking about! I also love to spend time with my golden retriever, Mila, who watches by as I attempt to tackle various DIY projects around my home.
I am so happy to be joining the counseling team this year, and I look forward to working with you all!
