Mr. McKean graduated from Fowler High School in 1992. He graduated from Central Michigan University in 1997, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. He taught in the districts of Portland, Lake Orion and Holt, as he earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan in 2002. Mr. McKean was very fortunate to begin his administrative career at Pewamo-Westphalia Community Schools, where he served as the Junior/Senior High School Principal from 2006-2009. He has been the principal at DeWitt High School since the Fall of 2009 and enjoys every aspect of the job where he works with a tremendous staff, supportive parents and a motivated student body. He considers his current position a "dream" job and looks forward to future challenges and continuing great success in the realm of academics, athletics and the arts that has been established as the expectation for DeWitt High School.
Mr. McKean is married to wife Beth and have three wonderful children, Connor, Maeva and Kalvyn. In his spare time, Mr. McKean enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, working in the yard and spending time with his family. They also spend some of their free time at their family's cottage in the Upper Peninsula. Although a graduate of Central Michigan University, he has a distinct passion for Michigan football and basketball.

Sean Wade-Assistant Principal
Sean is beginning his 21st year as an Assistant Principal, the last 19 years at DeWitt High School. Born and raised in Grand Ledge, Mr. Wade attended both Lansing Community College and Michigan State University where he earned his teaching degree and later his Master's in Educational Administration. Mr. Wade taught for 8 years in several districts including Grand Ledge, Lansing and Laingsburg gaining experience at the middle school, high school and alternative education levels. Sean considers the Assistant Principalship at DeWitt High School his dream job and hopes to continue in this position for a long time to come. He has been married to his wife Roxy for 21 years and has two daughters both attended DHS. In his spare time, Mr. Wade enjoys playing guitar, movies, reading, swimming and traveling with his family.
