Hello and welcome to my bio page! My name is Kirstin Olson and I am thrilled to be your school counselor at DeWitt High School! I attended Michigan State University where I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, then went to Western Michigan University for a Master's degree in School Counseling (K-12). I got my start as a counselor in southwest Michigan where I was an elementary school counselor for three years. I moved back to the area in 2019 and made the switch to the high school level, working at Charlotte High School. I have been a DeWitt Panther since the start of the 22-23 school year!
The part of my job I love the most is forming relationships with students and helping them navigate the shift into the world of young adulthood, whether that is the workforce, a trade, the military or college. In my free time I enjoy taking or teaching a barre class at b3 East Lansing, golfing with my husband, Dom, reading a thriller novel or streaming the latest show people are talking about! Together Dom and I have two dogs, Mila (golden retriever) and Kujo (red fox lab), and we are welcoming our first child in October of 2025 (Stella).
I am proud to call DeWitt High School home and look forward to working with all my students!
